thelab is looking for a Motion Designer to join our team. The Design is just as important as the Motion. We are looking for an editor/animator that understands and can build design elements, can work as an independent creative, is very familiar with the creation of storyboards, and has a collaborative mindset to work with multiple creative teams across a range of clients. Experience: 6+ years relevant experience Hybrid Position - in the Madison Square Park office Tues-Thurs Salary Range: $90,000-$115,000 commensurate with experience About thelab: We are an agency of makers with deep expertise in solving creative, production, and technology challenges. From branding & design to e-commerce builds or anything in between, thelab mixes inspiration and hard work to produce results. Looking for: Strong After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Figma skills to design, edit and animate content ranging from motion graphics-driven pieces to footage-based edits in a variety of genres, visual styles and budgets for delivery to a number of platforms (Social media, broadcast, GIF, etc). Will work closely with Creative teams and must be detail oriented and comfortable with both independent and collaborative work. If required, support and/or collaborate with additional Editors, Designers, or Animators to create work. A sense of current editorial and motion graphics trends and styles Design-centric skillset, and able to conceptualize creative projects from concepts through storyboards into deliverable. Qualifications: Proficiencies in a variety of content software tools. Including, but not limited to: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Figma, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with motion typographic/graphics. Ability to do light mockups of interaction design as well as conceptual storyboarding. Strong communication/organizational skills and an entrepreneurial mindset Ability to work under pressure as a part of a small team Ability to collaborate with large teams when necessary Understanding of structure for treatments, scripts, storyboards and finished videos Experience: Professional experience gained as employee or freelancer within an organization that edits/animates video Scholastic video experience focusing on video editing, design, animation and post production finishing Links to work/portfolio required thelab
